Wage Wars: Class Warfare Is A Trick Of The Devil. I must say from the outset, I am pro capitalism, based upon Godly morals. Yet, this is a Bible Study on how the Labor market is being grinded by a high cost of living and the grinding of lower wages, while all the while, businesses paying higher and higher wages to those at the top. This is not a call to take down the 1% or anything stupid like that. As I have never had a poor man give me a job. This is a study showing how the pursuit of pleasure and ease, and the trying to just live, is being used by Satan to grind down the world. No one is innocent in this narrative, as the Laborer is just as guilty in their pursuit of pleasure and those who employ them- Management. Both sides are being played by the devil. Management seeks more profits so they raise prices, while not raising wages. Then Labor cannot buy any more, then eventually less. Managements desire to get wealth is killing the host in the pursuit for pleasure, power, and more. Labor is using what they have to do the same- a disastrous pursuit for pleasure and more, spending their money on that which does not fulfill. Both sides are guilty and playing right into the hands of the devil, trying to obtain the “Good Life.” All the while, never realizing it is a never-ending journey to always achieve and get more. There is no end when lusting for the delicacies of this world.

Focus Verse: 1 Timothy 6:10 “For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”

I must say from the outset, I am pro capitalism, based upon Godly morals.     Our World System Is Based Upon Idolatry Of Luxury And Pleasure.

James 4:1-5 “Where do wars and fighting’s among you come from? Don’t they come from your pleasures that war in your members?  (2)  You lust, and don’t have. You murder and covet, and can’t obtain. You fight and make war. You don’t have, because you don’t ask.  (3)  You ask, and don’t receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.  (4)  You adulterers and adulteresses, don’t you know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.  (5)  Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who lives in us yearns jealously”?”

It is the Same Temptations Satan Used Against Jesus in Luke 4:1-13

Turn The Stone To Bread- Physical Needs To Live.

I Will Give You The World- The Desire For Pleasure, Power, & Fame.

Cast Yourself Down: To Resist God And His Plan.

1 John 2:15-17 “Don’t love the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the Father’s love isn’t in him.  (16)  For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, isn’t the Father’s, but is the world’s.  (17)  The world is passing away with its lusts, but he who does God’s will remains forever.

The world sees money as the means to obtain all their lustful desires. It is the tool they seek to realize the dark deeds of their heart. Turning human beings into nothing more the brute beasts ruled buy their lusts.

2 Timothy 3:1-4 “But know this, that in the last days, grievous times will come.  (2)  For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,  (3)  without natural affection, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, not lovers of good,  (4)  traitors, headstrong, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God;

2 Peter 2:12-19  “But these men, like irrational animals – creatures of instinct, born to be caught and destroyed – do not understand whom they are insulting, and consequently in their destruction they will be destroyed,  (13)  suffering harm as the wages for their harmful ways. By considering it a pleasure to carouse in broad daylight, they are stains and blemishes, indulging in their deceitful pleasures when they feast together with you.  (14)  Their eyes, full of adultery, never stop sinning; they entice unstable people. They have trained their hearts for greed, these cursed children!  (15)  By forsaking the right path they have gone astray, because they followed the way of Balaam son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness,  (16)  yet was rebuked for his own transgression (a dumb donkey, speaking with a human voice, restrained the prophet’s madness).  (17)  These men are waterless springs and mists driven by a storm, for whom the utter depths of darkness have been reserved.  (18)  For by speaking high-sounding but empty words they are able to entice, with fleshly desires and with debauchery, people who have just escaped from those who reside in error.  (19)  Although these false teachers promise such people freedom, they themselves are enslaved to immorality. For whatever a person succumbs to, to that he is enslaved.”

1 Timothy 5:6 “But the one who lives for pleasure is dead even while she lives.”

See: Luke 8:4-15 For The Full Parable

Luke 8:14  As for the seed that fell among thorns, these are the ones who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by the worries and riches and pleasures of life, and their fruit does not mature.

The Wage War Condition

We will start our Bible Study with the cautionary tales of the Rich Man and the Poor Man. As they say, “A tale as old as time.” So, let’s set the stage showing that what is happening today was happening 2000 years ago. The rich have always oppressed the poor. Let me be clear: communism and almost all “ism’s” are terrible. Most migrant, working class revolutions end in subjection and terror. This is not the answer and this is not the focus of this Bible Study. We are setting the stage by pointing out the issues, and will then show how to fix them and defeat the devil’s plan to divide and conquer the populace.

The Goal Of Management Is To Seek Wealth.

James 4:13-17 “Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow let’s go into this city, and spend a year there, trade, and make a profit.”  (14)  Whereas you don’t know what your life will be like tomorrow. For what is your life? For you are a vapor that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away.  (15)  For you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will both live, and do this or that.”  (16)  But now you glory in your boasting. All such boasting is evil.  (17)  To him therefore who knows to do good, and doesn’t do it, to him it is sin.”

  The Plight Of Labor.

James 5:4 “Behold, the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you have kept back by fraud, cry out, and the cries of those who reaped have entered into the ears of the Lord of Armies.”

James 2:6-7 “But you have dishonored the poor man. Don’t the rich oppress you, and personally drag you before the courts?  (7)  Don’t they blaspheme the honorable name by which you are called?”

Proverbs 18:23 “The poor plead for mercy, but the rich answer harshly.”

  Why Management Withholds The Profits.

James 5:5-6 “You have lived in luxury on the earth, and taken your pleasure. You have nourished your hearts as in a day of slaughter.  (6)  You have condemned, you have murdered the righteous one. He doesn’t resist you.”

Proverbs 14:20-21 “The poor person is shunned even by his own neighbor, but the rich person has many friends.”

James 2:2-6  “For if a man with a gold ring, in fine clothing, comes into your synagogue, and a poor man in filthy clothing also comes in;  (3)  and you pay special attention to him who wears the fine clothing, and say, “Sit here in a good place;” and you tell the poor man, “Stand there,” or “Sit by my footstool;”  (4)  haven’t you shown partiality among yourselves, and become judges with evil thoughts?  (5)  Listen, my beloved brothers. Didn’t God choose those who are poor in this world to be rich in faith, and heirs of the Kingdom which he promised to those who love him?  (6)  But you have dishonored the poor man. Don’t the rich oppress you, and personally drag you before the courts?”

The Ultimate End Of Managements Evil Schemes.

James 5:1-3 “Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your miseries that are coming on you.  (2)  Your riches are corrupted and your garments are moth-eaten.  (3)  Your gold and your silver are corroded, and their corrosion will be for a testimony against you, and will eat your flesh like fire. You have laid up your treasure in the last days.”

As we see here, this has been going on for a very long time. This has nothing to do with Capitalism, but it has everything to do with uncontrolled souls running full of greed to the nearest dollar. It is sin that makes men destroy other men.

1 Timothy 6:9-10 “Those who long to be rich, however, stumble into temptation and a trap and many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.  (10)  For the love of money is the root of all evils. Some people in reaching for it have strayed from the faith and stabbed themselves with many pains.”

Truth Be Told

Labor often complains against Management, while being filled with the same greed. Given the chance they would do the very same thing. Most desire to become wealthy and seek the very same pursuits of pleasure. The contention is with who gets the lion’s share of the cash pile.

Before We Start To Think That We Are Something Special- Let Us Review!

Luke 16:10 “The one who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and the one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.”

Management, Labor, & The Church All Suffer The Same Sickness.

As we will see here, greed is a human condition- even within the body of Christ.

Revelation 3:14-21 “To the angel of the assembly in Laodicea write: “The Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of God’s creation, says these things:  (15)  “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were cold or hot.  (16)  So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of my mouth.  (17)  Because you say, ‘I am rich, and have gotten riches, and have need of nothing;’ and don’t know that you are the wretched one, miserable, poor, blind, and naked;  (18)  I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, that you may become rich; and white garments, that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes, that you may see.  (19)  As many as I love, I reprove and chasten. Be zealous therefore, and repent.  (20)  Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, then I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with me.  (21)  He who overcomes, I will give to him to sit down with me on my throne, as I also overcame, and sat down with my Father on his throne.”

Mark 7:20-23 “He said, “What comes out of a person defiles him.  (21)  For from within, out of the human heart, come evil ideas, sexual immorality, theft, murder,  (22)  adultery, greed, evil, deceit, debauchery, envy, slander, pride, and folly.  (23)  All these evils come from within and defile a person.”

Luke 12:15 “Then he said to them, “Watch out and guard yourself from all types of greed, because one’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.”

Jude 1:8-13 “Yet these men, as a result of their dreams, defile the flesh, reject authority, and insult the glorious ones.  (9)  But even when Michael the archangel was arguing with the devil and debating with him concerning Moses’ body, he did not dare to bring a slanderous judgment, but said, “May the Lord rebuke you!”  (10)  But these men do not understand the things they slander, and they are being destroyed by the very things that, like irrational animals, they instinctively comprehend.  (11)  Woe to them! For they have traveled down Cain’s path, and because of greed have abandoned themselves to Balaam’s error; hence, they will certainly perish in Korah’s rebellion.  (12)  These men are dangerous reefs at your love feasts, feasting without reverence, feeding only themselves. They are waterless clouds, carried along by the winds; autumn trees without fruit – twice dead, uprooted;  (13)  wild sea waves, spewing out the foam of their shame; wayward stars for whom the utter depths of eternal darkness have been reserved.”

Destruction Awaits The Worlds Wealth

As the parable goes, those who build their house upon wealth, greed, and the abundance of their possessions, are building upon sinking sands.

Matthew 7:26-27 “Everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them is like a foolish man who built his house on sand.  (27)  The rain fell, the flood came, and the winds beat against that house, and it collapsed – it was utterly destroyed!”

The Rain Of God’s Wrath & Punishment Is Coming

Babylon And The World Money System Will Be Destroyed.

All That Men Have Put Their Faith And Hope In Will Be Destroyed.

Luke 6:24-26 “But woe to you who are rich! For you have received your consolation.  (25)  Woe to you, you who are full now, for you will be hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you will mourn and weep.  (26)  Woe, when men speak well of you, for their fathers did the same thing to the false prophets.

Psalms 49:16-20 “Don’t be afraid when a man is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased;  (17)  for when he dies he will carry nothing away. His glory won’t descend after him.  (18)  Though while he lived he blessed his soul— and men praise you when you do well for yourself—  (19)  he shall go to the generation of his fathers. They shall never see the light.  (20)  A man who has riches without understanding, is like the animals that perish.”

James 1:8-12 “He is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.  (9)  But let the brother in humble circumstances glory in his high position;  (10)  and the rich, in that he is made humble, because like the flower in the grass, he will pass away.  (11)  For the sun arises with the scorching wind, and withers the grass, and the flower in it falls, and the beauty of its appearance perishes. So also will the rich man fade away in his pursuits.  (12)  Blessed is a person who endures temptation, for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life, which the Lord promised to those who love him.”

Jeremiah 5:23-30 “But this people has a revolting and a rebellious heart. They have revolted and gone.  (24)  They don’t say in their heart, ‘Let’s now fear Yahweh our God, who gives rain, both the former and the latter, in its season; who preserves to us the appointed weeks of the harvest.’  (25)  “Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withheld good from you.  (26)  For among my people are found wicked men. They watch, as fowlers lie in wait. They set a trap. They catch men.  (27)  As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit. Therefore they have become great, and grew rich.  (28)  They have grown fat. They shine; yes, they excel in deeds of wickedness. They don’t plead the cause, the cause of the fatherless, that they may prosper; and they don’t judge the right of the needy.  (29)  “Shouldn’t I punish for these things?” says Yahweh. “Shouldn’t my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?  (30)  “An astonishing and horrible thing has happened in the land.

Luke 12:16-21 “He then told them a parable: “The land of a certain rich man produced an abundant crop,  (17)  so he thought to himself, ‘What should I do, for I have nowhere to store my crops?’  (18)  Then he said, ‘I will do this: I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods.  (19)  And I will say to myself, “You have plenty of goods stored up for many years; relax, eat, drink, celebrate!”’  (20)  But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded back from you, but who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’  (21)  So it is with the one who stores up riches for himself, but is not rich toward God.”

Then The End Of Your Wealth Comes

Luke 17:26-30 “Just as it was in the days of Noah, so too it will be in the days of the Son of Man.  (27)  People were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were being given in marriage – right up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.  (28)  Likewise, just as it was in the days of Lot, people were eating, drinking, buying, selling, planting, building;  (29)  but on the day Lot went out from Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.  (30)  It will be the same on the day the Son of Man is revealed.”

Ezekiel 16:48-50  As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, your sister Sodom and her daughters never behaved as wickedly as you and your daughters have behaved.  (49)  “‘See here – this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters had majesty, abundance of food, and enjoyed carefree ease, but they did not help the poor and needy.  (50)  They were haughty and practiced abominable deeds before me. Therefore when I saw it I removed them.

Revelation 18:2-19 “He cried with a mighty voice, saying, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, and she has become a habitation of demons, a prison of every unclean spirit, and a prison of every unclean and hateful bird!  (3)  For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her sexual immorality, the kings of the earth committed sexual immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth grew rich from the abundance of her luxury.”  (4)  I heard another voice from heaven, saying, “Come out of her, my people, that you have no participation in her sins, and that you don’t receive of her plagues,  (5)  for her sins have reached to the sky, and God has remembered her iniquities.  (6)  Return to her just as she returned, and repay her double as she did, and according to her works. In the cup which she mixed, mix to her double.  (7)  However much she glorified herself, and grew wanton, so much give her of torment and mourning. For she says in her heart, ‘I sit a queen, and am no widow, and will in no way see mourning.’  (8)  Therefore in one day her plagues will come: death, mourning, and famine; and she will be utterly burned with fire; for the Lord God who has judged her is strong.  (9)  The kings of the earth, who committed sexual immorality and lived wantonly with her, will weep and wail over her, when they look at the smoke of her burning,  (10)  standing far away for the fear of her torment, saying, ‘Woe, woe, the great city, Babylon, the strong city! For your judgment has come in one hour.’  (11)  The merchants of the earth weep and mourn over her, for no one buys their merchandise any more;  (12)  merchandise of gold, silver, precious stones, pearls, fine linen, purple, silk, scarlet, all expensive wood, every vessel of ivory, every vessel made of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble;  (13)  and cinnamon, incense, perfume, frankincense, wine, olive oil, fine flour, wheat, sheep, horses, chariots, and people’s bodies and souls.  (14)  The fruits which your soul lusted after have been lost to you, and all things that were dainty and sumptuous have perished from you, and you will find them no more at all.  (15)  The merchants of these things, who were made rich by her, will stand far away for the fear of her torment, weeping and mourning;  (16)  saying, ‘Woe, woe, the great city, she who was dressed in fine linen, purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls!  (17)  For in an hour such great riches are made desolate.’ Every ship master, and everyone who sails anywhere, and mariners, and as many as gain their living by sea, stood far away,  (18)  and cried out as they looked at the smoke of her burning, saying, ‘What is like the great city?’  (19)  They cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and mourning, saying, ‘Woe, woe, the great city, in which all who had their ships in the sea were made rich by reason of her great wealth!’ For she is made desolate in one hour.”

It Is All Going To Burn

2 Peter 3:10-13  “But the day of the Lord will come like a thief; when it comes, the heavens will disappear with a horrific noise, and the celestial bodies will melt away in a blaze, and the earth and every deed done on it will be laid bare.  (11)  Since all these things are to melt away in this manner, what sort of people must we be, conducting our lives in holiness and godliness,  (12)  while waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God? Because of this day, the heavens will be burned up and dissolve, and the celestial bodies will melt away in a blaze!  (13)  But, according to his promise, we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness truly resides.”

What we Are & What We Should Be

Show me your checkbook and I’ll show you your priority. Show me what you spend your money on, and I will show you what you value most. We don’t need to put the money where our mouths are, we are already putting it where our hearts are. You see, Labor and Management have the same issue, the same desire, the same problem- they are both sinful humanity. The human condition and the carnal mind are always seeking comfort, safety, and more. This conflicts with the move of the Spirit of God, as self preservation is the enemy of the spirit.

John 15:12-13 “My commandment is this – to love one another just as I have loved you.  (13)  No one has greater love than this – that one lays down his life for his friends.”

Luke 9:23-26  “Then he said to them all, “If anyone wants to become my follower, he must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me.  (24)  For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life because of me will save it.  (25)  For what does it benefit a person if he gains the whole world but loses or forfeits himself?  (26)  For whoever is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of that person when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.”

Choose This Day Whom You Will Serve

Luke 16:13 “No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.”

Matthew 6:19-21  “Do not accumulate for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and devouring insect destroy and where thieves break in and steal.  (20)  But accumulate for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and devouring insect do not destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal.  (21)  For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

1 Timothy 6:17-19  “Charge those who are rich in this present world that they not be arrogant, nor have their hope set on the uncertainty of riches, but on the living God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy;  (18)  that they do good, that they be rich in good works, that they be ready to distribute, willing to share;  (19)  laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold of eternal life.”

So, what is really going on? Labor VS Management? Or, man versus is own stone-cold greed and the ways of the world? Humanity placing their lives in the abundance of their wealth, then at the same time, forsaking the God who made them. This is how the devil is splitting the classes. As fear comes upon the poor through lack, and the rich from the fear of loss. It focuses humanity’s heart in a competitive stance against his brother, and not the adversary of their souls- Satan. Let us not become deceived with this evil trick. Focus first on God, loving your fellow man, and investing into the Kingdom of God. Next time, we will go over Biblical guidelines for Labor and Management.
